{Seasonal Wreath} Hawaiian Parasols with Burlap

Can you tell I'm ready for warmer weather? =)

This is a wreath I had been wanting to make for a long time. And even though it's still winter around here, I couldn't help but go ahead and hang this Hawaiian Parasol wreath on my front door! It may be cold out, but the sunshine coming through the windows tells me that warmer weather is on its way.

This wreath was inspired by a few that I had found online a while back. I just loved the texture of the parasols and all the colors. I added some burlap and the painted initial letter. After all, I love personalization!

Hope you like it! Thanks for looking!

{Getting Crafty} Painted Burlap Letters

Oh, Pinterest. So many good crafting ideas, and not enough time to browse all of them.

I found these burlap letters a while back, and I couldn't wait to make them. I love burlap, so I fell in love with the texture of these painted letters.

I had a spot in our VERY small bathroom that needed something new. I had some pictures hung there, but I just wanted something new. {Please excuse the horrible lighting here! I think I need new lightbulbs that aren't so yellow ...}

Like I said, it's the texture that I can't get enough of. Just love it.

There ya go! Just wanted to share =)

{Happy Birthday Lala!} Handmade Monogram Letter

Mikaelah, my partner in crime and the best sister ever, celebrated her birthday over the weekend! We all know that we both love to create just about anything, and I wanted to create something special for her. So, of course, I headed over to Pinterest. {We're both very much addicted! Are you?}

She and I both had pinned this monogram letter a while back. This served as my inspiration. I just loved the texture. The contrasting colors of the twine and the purple felt flowers. And the ribbon bow.

Ok, I loved it all, and I just knew that Mikaelah did too.

Here is the finished product:

I just might have to make one for me, too!

I'm  loving this large ribbon at the base.

{Parties in Action} Bryson's First Birthday

Little Bryson had a great turnout for his birthday party over the weekend!

His mother, Susan, and I had a lot of fun creating his cake and smash cake. And I think Bryson thought it looked good ....

.... But I don't think he much cared for it! (Or was that the candle he was trying to eat?)

These are only SOME of the gifts on the gift table. (He had so many presents, that he almost fell asleep trying to get through them all!)

This is a handpainted "B" created by Mikaelah. With dots/bouncy balls to match the party theme, of course.

While it might not be the best picture, Bryson's birthday shirt was absolutely adorable! It's a handmade creation by a good friend of Mikaelah's who owns LittleRascalBabies, which can be found here on Etsy. She specializes in embroidered and embellished shirts/bodysuits, burp cloths, bibs, bloomers, and boxers for babies and children.

We all had a wonderful time, but now his mom and dad, Eric and Susan, have to find room for all those new toys .... Good luck!

{Ribbon Topiary} Bright Pink

Mikaelah had a special request for a bright pink ribbon topiary ... and I think she delivered! I love all the contrasting hues and textures.

These look beautiful as table centerpieces or on the ends of a cake or dessert table. We love customizing them for various occasions, so let us know if you'd like us to create one for your special event.

{First Birthday Party} Cupcakes in Turquoise, Pink and Green

Little Ella (what a cutie she is!) is turning one, and she celebrated her big day this weekend with a one-of-a-kind cupcake party.

Ella is an adorable little girl, and she just happens to have the sweetest parents. Her mom, Sarah, came up with the idea of the cupcake party and the colors of turquoise, pink and green. What a cute combination! Mikaelah and I were trilled to be a part of these party preparations.

I fell in love with all the scrapbook paper devoted to cupcakes! Especially this one. We incorporated this pattern into a variety of items for little Ella's party, but we wanted to do something extra special, so this is what we came up with ...

And you know the little cutie is going to smash her way into her very own birthday cake (and probably make a huge and adorable mess). So we created this small banner to string across the front of her high chair. Continuing the cupcake theme, of course.

We loved putting this banner together. The problem was, there were just TOO MANY cute papers and patterns to choose from! (The polka dot ones are among my favorites.)

Ohhh, now this is a fun project that I had really been wanting to try! Cupcake toppers.

And then some coordinating cupcake wrappers.

Ok, this is where Sarah (mom to the little cutie) comes in. She came of with the idea of a cupcake making table for the children at the party. Sarah even prepared a little station for the kids to decorate their own little boxes to take the cupcakes home in. Such a fun idea, and a great way to get the little ones involved in the cupcake making =)

To go along with the cupcake making station, Mikaelah and I created these table signs.

I love how the colors really pop on this door sign that we created for the party.

This tulle cupcake wreath was a project Mikaelah took on, and I was thrilled with how it turned out! What can I say, I love cupcakes. Oh yes, and polka dots, too!

Another Mikaelah project: Have you seen some of the ribbon topiaries she has made for previous parties? Well, these are the baby version of them, and they're simply adorable. Some of the larger topiaries can be found here and here.

So can you tell we had a lot of fun making these for Ella's party? We really did enjoy having the opportunity to do all of this for her. What a fun theme, and what a fun birthday for her.

Happy 1st Birthday, Ella!
